Warranty

Standard warranty charges only apply when the product in questions has been purchased from an authorised dealer.

Rod Warranty

We are delighted that you have chosen a Hardy carbon/glass fibre rod. As an owner of a Hardy carbon/glass fibre rod, you are entitled to take part in the Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service. To do so, you need to register your rod within 60 days of purchase. If you have not already done so, you may register your product through the link below. You will be required to create an account when registering.

You will receive an email confirming your registration.

Once you have registered to take part in the Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service you will be entitled for the lifetime of the product to the repair or replacement (at our discretion) of damaged, broken or defective sections of your rod in accordance with these terms.

The Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service is in addition to and does not affect or reduce the owner’s statutory rights which cover against manufacturing faults and mis-described goods during the 12 month statutory period. Please ensure you retain proof of purchase as this will be requested upon making a claim under your statutory rights.

How much does it cost?

Rods manufactured since January 2002 are covered by our Hardy Rod Warranty & Repair Service.

Claims under the Hardy Rod Warranty are currently subject to the following charges:

  • £50 handling, administration and return postage and packing charge (per claim).Outside of the UK additional postal charges may apply.

All Hardy Bros. Rods are covered by our Hardy Bros. Rod Warranty. The charge for claims under the Hardy Bros. Rod Warranty is £70 per section (per claim).

A handling and repair/replacement fee will be chargeable for each claim made under the Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service. For current charges see Warranty Charges in the shaded box to the right or contact your nearest Customer Service Department.

Hardy reserves the right to change the handling fee and repair/replacement fee from time to time without notice.

Sending Broken Sections

This applies to only Hardy Bros. rods listed below. For tip sections, you need only send the bottom 10cm (4ins), for middle sections, the bottom and top 10cm (4ins) and for the butt section, supply the top 15cm (6ins). Hardy will match a new replacement to the broken section. When returning broken sections, you must state model, length and line size. Please advise your preferred daytime telephone number and daytime delivery address.

How to make a claim in the UK

If the product is under 12 months old please return it to the place of purchase. You will require your receipt. The dealer will look after your claim for you.

If over 12 months old please contact the UK Customer Service Department (CSD) details below.

Further information

  • You are responsible for the cost of carriage of the rod or section to the Customer Service Department (CSD) of Hardy or to your local distributor.
  • Return despatch and insurance charges to customers in the UK will be paid by Hardy there may be a surcharge for customers outside the UK.
  • Rods covered by the Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Hardy.
  • We will try to match, so far as is reasonably possible, a replacement rod section to a broken section. However, there may be colour/material and specification variations in the replacement sections against the original.
  • The Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service does not cover normal wear and tear, or apply to products that have been neglected, altered or abused in anyway.
  • The Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service does not cover lost or stolen rod(s) or rod section(s).
  • The Hardy Rod Warranty and Repair Service does not cover any associated or consequential liability due to use of the rod.
  • Warranty only applies to the original owner.

In the event that you have a valid claim under this service we will repair or replace the rod in accordance with these terms, but we will not be liable to you for any other loss, cost, claim or damage that you may suffer except for those losses which arise as a foreseeable consequence of us breaching these terms.

When replacement sections are no longer available we may at our discretion offer you a comparable rod from the current range, at a discounted price.

Reel Warranty

We are delighted you have chosen a Hardy reel. All new Hardy Reels carry a limited Hardy Reel Warranty on the terms set out below. The period of the warranty is stated in the leaflet that came with your reel.

We warrant that the product will be free from material defects in design, material and workmanship for a period of 5 years (or the period stated in the leaflet provided with your reel) from the date on which it was originally purchased.

  • This warranty is in addition to your statutory 12 month warranty against manufacturing and material defects.
  • It is important that you register your reel within 60 days of purchase on our website (click here to visit the registration page). You will receive an email confirming your registration.
  • Customers are requested to retain the original proof of purchase in order to aid with the claims process.
  • Warranty only applies to the original owner.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, negligence or normal wear and tear.

Repair Costs

All Hardy reel warranty claims determined to be caused by non-manufacturing related failures will be subject to a service fee:

Hardy reel service 1 - £30.00 includes labour, spare parts, processing, shipping and handling (outside the UK additional postal charges may apply)

Hardy reel service 2 - £35.00 includes labour, spare parts, clean and overhaul, processing, shipping and handling (outside the UK additional postal charges may apply)

Hardy reserves the right to change the service fee from time to time without notice.

Hardy reserves the right to determine whether a reel can be repaired or replaced. In the event the reel cannot be repaired or replaced, a current Hardy reel may be offered at a discount price.

How to make a claim in the UK

If the reel is under 12 months old from date of purchase, please return to your original place of purchase. You will require your original receipt.

For any reel over 12 months old, please send your reel (carefully packaged) along with a copy of your proof of purchase or registration confirmation to the address below. Please include a cover note outlining the problem and your full contact details.

Out of warranty

We offer a repair service if your Hardy reel falls outside the warranty period. There will be a charge associated with this service. Please contact our Customer Service Department for more details and to arrange a quote, contact details above.

All Other Products

All other Hardy products are covered by a statutory 12-month warranty against manufacturing and material defects. This warranty applies to products that have been used in the manner that was intended. It does not cover normal wear and tear, or apply to products that have been neglected, altered or abused in anyway, nor to any consequential loss relating to any defect.

Making a claim

If you have a problem with any Hardy product less than 12 months after purchase, please return it to your place of purchase. You will require your original receipt. The dealer will look after your claim for you.
